JARABACOA / CONSTANZA — DINING

Jarabacoa and Constanza are considered rustic areas of the island, next to more cosmopolitan areas like the capital, Santiago and Punta Cana. Because of that and the eco-tourists who trek to these areas, dining options are more modest.
In Jarabacoa (town), there is D’Parque Galería Pizzeria (Calle Duarte 37 and Calle Hermanas Mirabal) – which, despite its name, serves typical Dominican dishes like Mofongo, grilled steak, fish and sandwiches, as well as pizza; Restaurante El Rancho (Av. Independencia 1) – a restaurant affiliated with Rancho Baiguate which serves mainly Dominican and international dishes; and Aroma de la Montaña Restaurant (Independencia 43) – a classier place with a gorgeous view of the mountain areas, and an Italian-influenced menu (with appetizers such as fried calamari, and pastas), as well as various grilled cuts of chicken, steak, hamburgers and fish, and desserts.
In Constanza (town), there is Lorenzo’s (Luperón 83), which offer Dominican dishes such as Chivo Guisado (goat sautéed and served in a sauce), guinea fowl, and rabbit cooked in a wine; Aguas Blancas (Rufino Espinosa 54), which serves low-cost Dominican meals, such as La Bandera Dominicana (a plate of rice and beans with salad and your choice of meat); and Rancho Macajo (Carretera Duvergé), which serves Dominican Sancocho, as well as tacos and pizzas.
