Museo Torres García (Sarandi 683, Montevideo) – housed with the historic Palacio Heber, this museum is named after Uruguayan native Joaquin Torres García (a famous Cubist artist) — who spent much of his artistic career in France. Interestingly, the museum’s basement also serves as a theater – which attracts art students, school children, and tourists. Admission: $70 pesos (tourists), $40 pesos (residents with ID), $20 pesos (seniors & students). Hours: 10 am – 6 pm (Monday-Saturday), closed on Sunday and holidays. festivos
